Need for Radiotherapy

Do I need radiotherapy after I have had a secondary brain tumour removed?
This is a controversial question and very topical. Currently, there is a prospective, randomised trial being run in the USA trying to answer this question (N0574). If you have many other secondary tumours (metastases), then you would most likely benefit from radiotherapy. If you have only 3 or less then there is a good argument not to have whole brain radiotherapy (Sneed 1999 and 2002; Hasegawa 2003)
